TEACHING THE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND WISDOM
THE WORLD HAS TAUGHT ME
Leadership
Leaders have to always lead by example. By taking charge from the front, you are able to inspire others. True leaders hold themselves to a higher standard than they hold others.
While many see leaders at the top, in fact, leaders are there to do the hard work others are not. Lifting people up when they don't believe in themselves. Leaders provide clarity and confidence in difficult times by being solutions-minded.
Good leaders stop listen and talk last. It's true, that people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. Therefore, good leaders must always empathize, build trust, and seek to understand.
Successful leaders provide growth and opportunity to their peers. They understand that motivated, excited team members are the most valuable asset to the organization. They give more to get more from their team. And they always put the company first.
Do you believe in your ability to lead others?
Salesmanship
The most valuable skill you'll ever gain is the ability to sell. A great salesperson is a consultant, a trusted advisor, an expert in everything they're selling. They ask questions and seek to understand. They make honest recommendations and do business at no one's expense. They are opposite to everything known about the "used car salesman"
Sales has many major components that drive success. Soft skills such as attitude, adaptability, collaboration, and communication. Technical skills such as the ability to consult on value rather than price, and industry-expertise to give confidence to the buyer they are in good hands.
No matter what you believe, you are always selling something you believe in. Are you sharpening this essential skill?
Entreprenership
An entrepreneur is obsessed with finding solutions and solving problems, not just for themselves but for others. A result of this is innovation - products, and services that are valuable to the world. When you find real tough problems to solve, you will find the opportunity to
create new business.
Do you have a big problem to solve?
Mindset
The way you choose to perceive the world, interpret situations, and pick your battles will determine how successful you can be. The goal of developing your mindset is to help you reframe your current self into your best self. It starts with acknowledging your shortcoming and sharpening your strengths. The moment you think you are enlightened, your ego will be challenged by the power of humility. The right mindset is a constant neverending practice to be better.
Here is one of my favorite stories on mindset:
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”
He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Your mindset lays the foundation for the rest of your life. If you choose to be the victim, you will always lose. A powerful mindset will make you a champion, lifted up by positive feedback loops that reinforce good practices.
What mindsets and values have you put into practice recently to improve your life?
Investment
The best investment you can make is in yourself. When you invest in yourself you are making an investment that will compound and yield dividends for the rest of your life.
The power of compound growth is insane, if you can simply improve just 1% a day, in a year, counting 365 days compounded, you would be 38x the person you are today.
When you fully invested in yourself, you have nothing to fear when facing the adversity of an economic downturn. You will confidently know that you - your wisdom, knowledge, and skills will help you navigate uncertainty and triumph opportunities.
The second best investment you can make is in others. Have you heard the saying "your network is your net worth"? I will teach you how to build an empire, not just allies, but evangelists that will sing your praises. Let's build a company of heroes to fight for a better life together.
What's the biggest investment you've made in yourself?
